Islamic Finance

The MBA in Islamic finance at the University College of Bahrain (UCB) was created since 2006. This program is one of the oldest Islamic finance qualifications taught in the Kingdom of Bahrain and in the GCC region. Moreover, our MBA in Islamic finance together with our B. Sc.  in Business Administration (Islamic Finance) is the only Islamic finance program in the region to be recognized as AAOIFI Affiliated University. The MBA in Islamic finance is designed to offer students with thorough knowledge in the specialized areas of Islamic banking, Islamic finance, Islamic economics, Islamic insurance (takaful) and shariah from both theoretical and practical aspects. This program is also aimed at producing industry practitioners with global insight, holistic knowledge, and cutting-edge skills from both conventional and shariah fields. This innovative program will allow our MBA students to balance their academic commitments, while taking their professional career to new levels.

Graduates of MBA in Islamic finance will present in-depth understanding, solid skills, more competitive in the marketplace, and perform leading roles in the Islamic financial market. Our graduates from this programme would elevate their professional career into senior management positions in Islamic banking and shariah-compliant corporations in local and global market. Moreover, the agreement with AAOIFI provides MBA in Islamic finance graduates with exemptions from two out of four certified Islamic professional accountant (CIPA) modules. This means that our graduates of MBA in Islamic finance are able to gain CIPA professional qualification more quickly by taking fewer modules when they graduate.
