Masters of Business Administration Admission Criteria
UCB University College of Bahrain seeks potential candidates who wish to further their studies at the master’s level in business administration. Admission is granted to candidates who meet the following criteria:
The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.
The candidate must have a CGPA of not less than 2.50 out of 4.00 (Good) or equivalent. A Candidate whose CGPA is below 2.5 might get conditional acceptance. Such a candidate needs to pass the first four courses with a minimum CGPA of 2.7.
The candidate’s English proficiency will have to be verified for the applicants in the English Track:
- provide a copy of the results of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 5.5 no more than 2 years prior to the admission to UCB.
- OR provide a copy of TOEFL test results with a minimum of a score ≥ 550 or its equivalent no more than 2 years prior to admission to UCB.
- OR have completed his/her undergraduate programme at an accredited Institution of Higher Education where the medium of instruction is English.
- OR his/her first language is English.
- OR lived in a country for a minimum period of two years where English Language is first or formal language and studied in the medium of English.
Business prerequisites may be part of the admission requirements, should the programme require a certain “body of knowledge” in business subjects before starting. If prerequisites exist, the programme will specify the way (or ways) to satisfy prerequisites.
Information on how the candidate works with others in both business and academic environments is needed. Two letters of recommendation in this regard are required. The recommendation letters are to be provided by people such as previous professors, employers, or other associates.
A current detailed resume, including formal education achievements, work experience, extra-curricular activities and community service is required.
One or more essays are required to know about the applicant and why he/she wants to pursue an MBA at UCB. This will give an opportunity to portray the applicant and to express his/her goals.
Applicants might also be asked for an interview for eligibility for admission.
Admission Decision Process
The UCB MBA Admission Decision Process is based on two cohort start dates of September and January. The MBA candidate applications offer, or rejection letters are sent to applicants prior to the MBA semester start date.
