Prof. Nandita Sengupta, Head of the Information Technology Department at University College of Bahrain, delivering a community engagement lecture titled “Intelligent Cyber Defense: Leveraging AI and Deep Learning for Data Protection and Threat Prevention” on 28 September 2026. The session explored how AI and deep learning can strengthen intelligent threat detection, data protection, and proactive cyber defense.

The session highlighted the role of ANN, CNN, LSTM, GRU, GNN, and Transformer models in intelligent threat detection, intrusion detection, anomaly analysis, and data protection. Through interactive cybersecurity scenarios, participants also explored how AI can support SOC analysts in identifying suspicious activities, assessing cyber risks, and making informed security decisions.

The lecture emphasized the importance of combining AI-driven intelligence, secure data, human expertise, and responsible governance to build smarter and more resilient cyber-defense systems.
